Brooke Shields: Miss Meghan’s Celebrity Shoe-cam (C): ?

Ok so I saw this pic of Brooke going out to dinner in LA a few weeks ago and have been contemplating ever since what to say.

I don’t want to knock Brooke because that just doesn’t ever do anyone any good, so I’ll just say:

Crocs are fantastic for the garden!

What do you guys think?

KATIE HOLMES: MISS MEGHAN’S CELEBRITY SHOE-CAM

Ok ladies, What do you think about this? Katie wearing super bright orange with cobalt blue heels! As we know blue and orange are complimentary colors on the color wheel, but what do you think it says about her? It is a very fresh take on all the amazing poppy Spring colors we’ve been seeing that is for sure. Her dress is purposely just above maxi length as well so we we SEE THOSE SHOES.

The blue shoe thing kinda reminds me of my Bridal Shoe advice - maybe people will be more accepting of pairing blue shoes with their wedding dresses seeing how fresh it looks peeping out from under a long gown.

Anyhoo, My shoe-mood analysis: very adventurous! as in “take that fashion world! i’m not afraid to walk the edge and take a risk! and look good doing it.”

SEX AND THE CITY: INSIDE THE STILETTO

Got to catch up with the girls (and guys!) from the Sex and the City movie this weekend at the junket in New York.  I also got to SEE the movie — and I must say you will love, love, love it.  It is all about that amazing girlfriend connection these four women have, and the eternal quest for true love — done with a very light touch and an amazing focus on their inner intimate lives in such an amazing way.  There was not a dry eye in the house either.

Chatted with Sarah Jessica, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Jennifer Hudson in person on Sunday. Yes they were all wearing Stilettos and you know what that means.

Here is the shoe breakdown:

Cynthia: Shoe: One-strap simple black stiletto sandals: Mood: straightforward and sexy, no muss

Kim: Shoe: Blue, python, pointy toe multiple strap stiletto sandals: Mood: sensuous and feminine, playful

SJP: Shoe: Fierce platinum, studded, ankle strap chunky platform sandals: Mood: Don’t mess with my fashion fierceness!

Kristin: Shoe: nude platform three strap stiletto sandals, very gladiator-esque: Mood: engaged, sophisticated and real

Jennifer: Shoe: simple black pointy toe stilettos: Mood: I threw these on because I had to! (turns out, Jennifer is really a barefoot girl who loves bags wayyyy more than shoes! Stay tuned this month for more on that.)

And let me put to rest any rumors about any of them not getting along — there was so much hugging and squealing going on you might have thought they hadn’t seen each other in years!  Let me also attest to their natural beauty as well – they all looked even more gorgeous than they do in the film if that is possible.  SJP was rocking the fashion feeling in a big way –bottle green Lanvin dress and clutch, bracelets from those-in-the-know vintage showroom Seedhouse, the abovementioned (and shown) Proenza platforms.

Rock on sisters! See you on the big screen May 30!

GWYNETH PALTROW: PLATFORM HEELS IN THE DAILY NEWS

Gwyneth is continuing to make shoe headlines around the world on her press junket for Iron Man. I have to say, she is really embracing her inner Stiletto warrior in a major way and pushing the boundaries in over the top, buckled, platform, aggressive Stilettos.

From The New York Daily News today:

Fashion-victim alert

as women fall for 6-inch heels

Thursday, April 24th 2008, 4:00 AM

Like Icarus flying against his father’s wishes, is the modern woman trying to soar too high in today’s towering platform stilettos?

This is the question that went round the world Monday as Gwyneth Paltrow teetered out of a movie junket in a pair of 6-inch platform stilettos. Deploying a bodyguard to ensure her safe delivery down a set of stairs, Paltrow showed that even superstars need a hand to walk the fashion landscape.

And they look damn good doing it.

The average heel height for a woman’s shoe has escalated exponentially in the last five years. Back then, the average stiletto pump heel height never exceeded 3 inches. And although the ’70s brought wild disco platforms, and in the early 1990s Vivienne Westwood’s 9-inch heels (with 5-inch platforms) toppled even Naomi Campbell on the runway, for some time, the reach of the average everyday pump had remained the same.

Christian Louboutin changed the face of the fashion shoe landscape when, four years ago, he introduced a stiletto with a small hidden platform at the toe - and increased the height of the heel to match - up to 5 inches. Embraced by celebs like Eva Longoria Parker and Gwen Stefani, this subtle but powerful silhouette swept the shoe landscape, and 4- and 5-inch stiletto pumps became the norm, even without the help of a hidden platform.

Mass marketing soon followed suit, and now it can be difficult to find the perfectly proportioned 2- or 3-inch all-day heel of yore.

Paltrow almost fell victim to the hype, literally: She has a new look, a new toned body and a new movie to promote.

All women want to tower, to embrace our feminine divinity and be adored in our stilettos. We want to keep going higher and higher, where, close to the sun, we can look down and see the Earth below us.

But as Paltrow made her ascent this week, clinging tenaciously to a strong arm, she was subject to more ridicule from the Earth below.

The truth: 6-inch heels are just about the sexiest thing you can put on your feet.

Don’t we all secretly want to push the boundaries a little bit every once in a while - even if we have to ask for a little help along the way?

TASHKENT:JCREPORT

Inspired by her Uzbek grandmother’s indomitable strength and 1930s glamour, Cheyenne Morris, the designer of luxury shoe line Tashkent—named after the capital city of Uzbekistan—is giving the shoe landscape a distinctive new silhouette.

While she majored in sculpture at the School of Visual Arts, Morris used her local cobbler’s equipment in her off-hours to create handmade, one-of-a-kind shoe creations when she was just 19. She refined her designs quickly, and just a few years later, Morris manufactured two seasons of her own line which sold to stores like Scoop and Tracey Ross.

GWYNETH PALTROW: MISS MEGHAN’S CELEBRITY SHOE-CAM(C)

Gwyneth has been everywhere this week. And truly she is looking hottie- puh-tottie as we would say in Michigan — she’s toned it up and is looking sleek and muscular. HOW - ever. Her love for the chunky, aggressive black sandal seems to have overpowered her brain — or maybe her shoes are definitely outlining a total inner dichotmomy — she’s got super chunk black Stilettos on her feet, and a fluttery feminine dress on top — more than once. Is someone feeling a little conflicted? It’s like when Katie Couric would wear those hyper-conservative suits and then a totally racy Prada stiletto “down below” (as my mother would say).

Check out the photo from Glam and BauerGriffin and see what you think.
*Is Gwyneth making a subliminal statement with her shoes?

MILEY CYRUS: MISS MEGHAN’S CELEBRITY SHOE-CAM

What your shoes say about you, Miley:

Red-hot satin peep-toe Stilettos are historically a shoe we might have only seen in certain house of ill repute, but Miley seems to be owning them in her own fun teenage way — and hopefully is rocking them more playfully, than seriously!

Either that or she is just waiting for her father’s watchful eye to take a break while she has a hot makeout sesh with one of the Jonas Brothers. Go Miley! We love your bad teenage self!

ASHLEY OLSEN: MISS MEGHAN’S CELEBRITY SHOE-CAM (C)

Love this fab shoe photo from GLAM.

Ashley and MK are a constant source of fascination for me. I saw them in person once, at Alexander McQueen in the Meatpacking district here in Manhattan, and they were so,so,so tiny, sitting together crouched on the bench in the back of the store where the shoe wall is, they looked like small muppets or little cartoon characters.  They were very quiet and were exactly how they appear in photos — very layered. I love this pic of Ashley’s shoes because they are so incredibly aggressive.  She wears gargantuan heels a lot, but these have an extra edge of hyper-aggressiveness — paired with her long blond locks, a smear of dark eyes and liquid patent leggings, her shoes are saying,

“step too close and i’ll stomp on your head with my buckled sandals.”  meow.
